The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres recruits a School Nurse.

Position to be filled from: 1st September 2022

Role and Key Responsibilities:
Working as part of the school medical team and reporting to the school doctor, you will be working with children aged 3 to 18.

  • Welcoming, listening and supporting students
  • Organize emergencies and provide care for all students and staff at the school
  • Participate in the preparation of health assessments, mandatory medical examinations and assist the school doctor in this mission.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of medical information and records
  • Ongoing collaboration with the entire medical team
  • Promote and contribute to the school integration of students with disabilities or health problems
  • Write accident reports and reports of interviews with students
  • Develop, according to identified needs, a health education within the framework of the school project and contribute to its assessment
  • Implement actions to improve the quality of life of students in terms of health and safety
  • Participate in the various bodies and committees of the school: CESC (Health Education and Citizenship Committee), CHS (Health and Safety Committee), educational teams (with teachers, senior education advisors, school principals)

Expected Skills and Knowledge:

  • NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registered nurse
  • Excellent linguistic skills (oral, written): French with a working knowledge of English or English with a working knowledge of French
  • Computer skills (MS suite, Word, Excel, emails, etc)
  • Respect confidentiality and professional secrecy
  • Autonomy, reactivity, rigour
  • Interpersonal skills:
    • Ability to work well with medical and non-medical colleagues,
    • be personable, approachable and ablt to establish a trusting relationship with children of all ages
    • communicate effectively with parents.

Working hours per year: 680h per annum (approximately 19hrs per week over 36 school weeks per annum) according to a time table set by your manager.

Location: South Kensington (London)

Monthly gross salary and benefits:

  • £1,135 per month
  • Employer contribution to private healthcare
  • 15% employer contribution to private pension
  • 60 days holiday per annum
