The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres recruits up to 2 Playground Supervisors for its South Kensington Primary School.

Position to be filled: from 1st of September 2022 until 7th of July 2023

Role: playground and canteen supervisors during lunch break working with children aged 3 to 11

Main duties:

  1. To carry out active supervision of the pupils
  2. To draw the attention of pupils eating a balanced diet and try new food
  3. To identify inappropriate behaviour and to intervene quickly in case of injury or conflict between pupils
  4. To report to the Management any incident or accident
  5. To supervise pupils on Wednesdays as they leave school (school finishes after lunch on Wednesdays)

Qualifications: level 3 qualifications (A levels, Baccalaureate or equivalent)

Expected skills and knowledge:

  1. Professional knowledge of children
  2. Excellent teamwork
  3. Dynamic and responsive
  4. Punctual and flexible
  5. Good command of English and/or French
  6. Listening and communication skills
  7. Behaviour and language adapted to the public concerned
  8. Respect confidentiality and promote discretion
  9. To act in accordance with the school policies

Working hours: 10 hours a week (2h/day) and 15 hours a week (3h/day)

Gross monthly salary: £ 483.50 (10h/week) or £ 725.25 (15h/week) (including a transport allowance) + free school dinner

The Lycée is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. (This procedure is undertaken by the Lycée). Additionally, anyone who has resided outside the UK will be asked to provide a criminal disclosure record from their country of residence.
